¡Hola! Bienvenida y bienvenido a este espacio.
I start this journey by thanking you in advance for taking a moment of calm to read this post... to read me.
I have to tell you that, although I am behind these words, I feel more nervous than ever, but also very secure. Because here I want us to truly meet, in the most essential way. And that's why today I decided to write about "purpose".
I want to tell you a story to give you an example. I have a godson who is very smart, his name is Enrique. He is 10 years old, but since he was little, he has been getting the highest grades in his class. Champion of the spelling bee, winner of all the contests in his generation and even on the basketball team. For years, his obsession was playing with building Legos of all kinds. For me, it was the easiest thing to find him a Christmas gift, I knew that with some Legos I would not fail. Enrique grew up and evolved along with the complexity of the pieces. How does my godson connect with the purpose of LEGO? The mission of this great company is clear: "to develop children to think creatively, reason systematically, and unleash their potential." They achieve this by creating open play experiences that foster creativity and critical thinking from an early age. Enrique started connecting one piece with another, and ended up building entire cities and telling their stories. My point is that clear purposes live through the years because they also inspire. I am sure that the people who work at Lego, upon hearing stories like Enrique's, feel something inside them that gets them out of bed every day to go to work, because it connects with their purpose.
I want to ask you something: imagine a place where everyone has a purpose. Where it’s not just about working to meet goals or something transactional, but about remembering and living that purpose in everything you do, in every KPI you move, in every decision you make, in every word you exchange with someone. It’s a tremendous force, I dare say it transforms cultures. Because when the purpose is simple and real, it envelops you, it embraces you, and it reminds you why you do what you do. It becomes the collective heartbeat of a work team.
Now I will share with you what inspired me to write today - and there are two reasons. The first is called Claudio Vallejo. Claudio is a very dear cousin, one of those you consider brothers, and a few months ago he threw me into the deep end one day with these words: "I'm giving you a webpage." Without expecting such a great gift, we have worked for several weeks to make it possible and here I am. Thank you, Claudio, because your purpose of developing technology that changes the world is living through mine.
